The Estonian Centre for Defence Investments (ECDI) would like to invite you to participate in the Request for Information (RFI) stage to prepare the tendering process to procure combat helmets for the Estonian Defence Forces (EDF).

A combat helmet is a critical element of the soldier’s personal protection equipment (PPE). The purpose of the helmet is to reduce the risk of fatal hits and other traumatic injuries to the head. Since the soldiers wear their PPE for prolonged periods of time it is vital that the construction is ergonomic and cause minimal physical stress. The helmets must work in conjunction with other equipment such as night-vision devices, eye- and ear protection, etc.

The RFI contains questions about the technical parameters of the helmets, presumable delivery and manufacturing times/schedules, pricing, etc.

Once the information is gathered, ECDI and EDF will evaluate the possible solutions and decide the most suitable for fulfilling the operational requirements. After this the ECDI will come up with a procurement strategy.

The potential procurement time – the tender will be announced during Q4 2022.

We shall be looking forward for your feedback as soon as possible but no later than October 30th, 2022. Please e-mail your answers to: [email protected].
