Background Checks of Persons Providing Services to the Estonian Defence Forces

The Estonian Defence Forces conduct a background check on a person involved in providing services to the Estonian Defence Forces in order to assess their suitability (legal basis: § 41³ (1) of the Estonian Defence Forces Organisation Act (hereinafter the EFD Organisation Act)).

The background check is conducted on the basis of § 41³ (1) of the EFD Organisation Act and in accordance with the procedure set out in § 41⁵.

The person’s written consent is required in order to conduct the background check. The Estonian-language consent form can be downloaded HERE, and the English-language form HERE.

The request for a background check must be submitted in accordance with the procedure set out in the “Security Requirements” annex to the procurement contract, together with the table containing the requested information, which can be downloaded HERE.
